Alejandro Garnacho wasted no time in demonstrating his prowess to Chelsea supporters with his first Premier League goal for the club. The Argentinian found the back of the net just four minutes into Saturday's match against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.
The goal came as a result of a precise pass from Pedro Neto that broke through the Black Cats' defence. Garnacho, 21, then effortlessly dribbled past Nordi Mukiele before slotting the ball between Robin Roefs' legs and into the goal. In a moment of pure joy, he then sat on the advertising board, arms outstretched towards the home fans as if to say, 'Who else but me?'
This display of skill proves that given the opportunity, Garnacho could be a valuable asset for Chelsea. His playing time has been limited since joining the Blues due to fierce competition from the likes of Neto, Estevao and Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea fans were quick to praise the young talent on social media following his impressive finish. One fan commented: "It's crazy how every time a player leaves Manchester United they flourish," while another dubbed him "The Argentinian Ronaldo."
Another supporter wrote: "He's off the mark and he's home," while a fourth noted: "Super transition. That's why he's brought. The pace and volume into the box!!!"
Garnacho moved to London this summer after a period of discontent at Manchester United under Ruben Amorim. Old Trafford was left in a chill when Garnacho criticised his team's 15th-place finish last season and expressed his disappointment at being dropped from the Red Devils' Europa League final match against Tottenham - a game they ultimately lost 1-0.
Subsequently, Garnacho secured a £40million transfer to Chelsea during the summer window, where he has clearly flourished in a short period of time. To date, he has made seven appearances for the club across all competitions.
