Benjamin Sesko pulls out of international squad in major Man Utd injury update

Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko will not go away on international duty after sustaining a knee problem. Sesko came on as a substitute in the 58th minute against Tottenham, but lasted just 30 minutes before being withdrawn following treatment for a knee complaint.

United were forced to see out the match with 10 men as Ruben Amorim had already exhausted all his substitutions. Sesko will undergo further assessment at Carrington this week, though insiders suggest the injury is not believed to be serious. The striker was seen hobbling as he departed the stadium.

Amorim addressed the injury during his press conference, saying: "We have to check. He had something in his knee, let's see."

When pressed on the severity, Amorim admitted: "I have no idea. Because it's the knee, we never know."

United secured Sesko's signature for £66.4million plus £7.3m in add-ons during the summer transfer window.

The 22-year-old began the campaign on the substitutes' bench for the first three Premier League fixtures.

He made his bow against Manchester City in September before netting his maiden goal against Brentford.

Sesko followed that up by finding the net against Sunderland to seal a 2-0 triumph last month.

Nevertheless, he was relegated to the bench against Liverpool at Anfield and drew a blank in his subsequent three appearances.
