The Duchess of Edinburgh looked poised as she cut a sombre figure at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday evening for the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance. Duchess Sophie looked elegant in a black dress with two brooches pinned to her left shoulder.
She accessorised with dainty jewellery and kept her make-up fresh and glowy, while her hair was styled in a half-updo. Sophie was joined by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, and other members of the Royal Family, including the King and Queen and the Princess of Wales.
Other royals in attendance were the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
The King led the event, having become Patron of the Royal British Legion last year.
This year's concert, which was hosted by actress and singer Hannah Waddingham, who looked classically beautiful in a rich purple dress, was particularly special as it commemorated the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2.
Sophie, who celebrated her daughter, Lady Louise Windsor's 22nd birthday today, is expected to attend the poignant Remembrance Sunday ceremony on Whitehall tomorrow, where the King will lead a two-minute silence.
This year, the Festival of Remembrance commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
It also marks the 25th anniversary of the UK Government lifting the ban on gay, lesbian, and bisexual personnel serving openly in the Armed Forces and reflects on past discrimination, while celebrating the progress made since 2000.
Tomorrow, senior members of the Royal Family will join the King and Queen for the National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph.
The sombre event will see thousands gathered in the heart of Whitehall to watch the Remembrance Service, during which some 10,000 veterans will march past the memorial.
The Royal Family will lead the nation in two minutes of silent reflection, punctuated by gunfire by the King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery from nearby Horse Guards Parade.
