Major fictional characters have significant birthdays. Harry Potter's is July 31, the same as JK Rowling's, while Captain America's is on July 4.
And now the James Bond film franchise has revealed 007's official birthday, which turns out to be... today!
And similar to the Marvel superhero mentioned above, it's a suitably patriotic one, commemorating Remembrance Day on November 11.
Posting on Instagram today, the official 007 account read: "James Bond's passport in SKYFALL reveals his birthplace as Glencoe and his birthdate as 11th November 1972."
But November 11 wasn't randomly chosen, even though Ian Fleming never gave Bond's birthday in the novels. It's because it was previously cited in John Pearson's James Bond: The Authorised Biography of 007, which gave Remembrance Day as Bond's date of birth. This is backed by Bond scholar John Griswold, who puts the book incarnation of Bond's date of birth as November 11, 1921, in line with the 1950s set novels.
