Corporate travel is booming again, raking in billions of pounds as business executives take to the skies again in ever growing numbers. Analysts predict that the business travel market will generate a whopping US$829.5 billion (£633bn) by 2027.
Given the value of the executive dollar, airports around the world are going to extra lengths to provide the best services for their corporate travellers. To help executives make the most of their trips, a new list of the top 10 airports for business travellers has been published. Researchers for Booking.com analysed 50 of the world's busiest airports based on a number of categories - such as the number of business class routes and proximity to the local business district. Its findings are revealed below, but be warned - no British airport made it onto the list, with Heathrow the highest placed in 11th position.
The Dutch airport hosts 104 airlines that fly to 97 countries and 332 direct destinations.
It also handles over 66.8 million passengers annually, reinforcing its status as one of Europe's largest aviation hubs.
It gained a Business Travel score of 7.25. The airport is served by fast trains to the city centre and is just 33.5 minutes from the capital's business district.
The airport facilities include Privium Plus members lounge, available only to nationals of the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland - so to Brits then!
Europe's second busiest airport after Istanbul scored a very respectable 7.29.
Over 76 million people normally pass through its three terminals in a good year.
It has four runways and planes fly to 300 destinations, making it the third largest European hub for global connectivity.
Canada's busiest airport handled 46.8 million passengers in 2024, an increase of 4.4% on 2023.
Scheduled and charter flights provide flights to more than 155 cities around the world.
Pearson has five main runways and 30 taxiways, constructed of concrete, asphalt or a combination of the two.
It holds a 4-Star Airport rating from Skytrax for its facilities, cleanliness, and staff service and scored 7.49 on the Booking.com Business Index.
The airport was built in just three years, opening to the public on October 12, 1991 and was initially called Shenzhen Huangtian Airport.
In 1998 it was upgraded to an international airport and today handles over 60 million passengers a year.
It has been awarded the CAPSE Best Airport for seven consecutive years and the "Top Ten Beautiful Airports in the World" twice.
The Chineses travel hub scored an impressive 8.18 on the Business Index.
The airport is the home base to the five-star airline Qatar Airways, and processes between 40 to 50 million passengers per year.
It boasts an architecturally iconic design and first opened its doors to the public in 2014.
Planes from 55 airlines fly to over 197 destinations, providing easy access to financial centres around the world.
It offers 18 premium lounges including Qatar Airways, Al Maha, Sleep n Fly, and shower facilities.
Booking researchers appear suitably impressed and have awarded it an index score of 8.27.
Rounding off the top five is Seoul Incheon International Airport in South Korea, which has a Business Travel Airport Index score of 8.28.
It is the largest airport in the country, and provides non-stop passenger flights to 165 destinations in 48 countries.
The longest flight is to Mexico City - a routes that covers 7,512 miles and takes almost 14 hours.
Haneda handled a whopping 85.7 million passengers in 2024 and has a Business Travel score of 8.37 and a Skytrax rating of five.
It is the busiest airport in Japan and the third-busiest in the world. It has three terminals with 45 airlines providing flights to 102 destinations.
Tokyo Haneda Airport has 33 lounges and four three-star hotels within a mile.
Germany's largest airport handles some 70 million passengers and processes more than 500,000 aircraft movement a year.
It serves more than 300 destinations in five continents, making it the airport with the most direct routes in the world.
The airport has 27 lounges and nine three-star hotels within one mile, and scores 8.62 on the Business Index.
Occupying the silver medal position, Singapore Changi Airport has Business Travel Airport Index score of 9.01.
100 airlines operate out of Changi Airport, serving about 170 destinations across close to 50 countries.
It served 67.7 million passengers and handled 366,000 aircraft movements in 2024.
Before moving to Changi in 1981, Singapore's international airport was located at Paya Lebar, which later became a military airbase.
It is famous for its Jewel Changi complex with its indoor waterfall, butterfly and sunflower gardens.
Top of the pops is Dubai International Airport, which gained an eye-popping score of 9.55
It was the world's busiest airport by international passenger traffic as of 2024 and, according to the new data, has a total of 271 routes with direct flights, 88 per cent of which are business class.
Just a 19-minute drive from the central business district, the airport has 35 lounges and nine three-star hotels within a mile.
