Commentary
  • We are back for the final session! The Indian players walk out to the middle to a big cheer from the crowd.
  • ... DAY 3, SESSION 3...
  • So, what’s expected next in the final session? Simple - survival vs supremacy! West Indies need to bat long, soak up overs, and maybe sneak through the evening without further damage. Their best bet? Use that slow pitch to their advantage, grind through the field placements, and find calm amid chaos. As for India, they’ll be hungry for more - Bumrah and Kuldeep, along with Siraj, Sundar and Jadeja, will be circling again, sniffing out wickets before Stumps. Strap in, as the third session is scheduled to start at 2.30 pm IST (9 am GMT)!
  • India, though, were in no mood to wait - follow-on enforced, intent crystal clear. Shubman Gill and Gautam Gambhir’s new leadership combo went for the jugular. Campbell and Chanderpaul started solidly, showing signs of resistance, but Siraj’s persistence paid off as Chanderpaul’s patience snapped - cue an excellent catch from Gill at mid-wicket. Not long after, Washington Sundar came in with a beauty, cleaning up Alick Athanaze at the stroke of the Tea. Indian bowlers are hunting and pushing, while the Windies now stare at the scoreboard like a bad dream repeating itself.
  • West Indies began the morning at 140/4, hoping to chip away at that massive deficit. But hope didn’t last long. Kuldeep’s spin web tangled the middle order, snaring three in quick time, while Siraj joined the party with one of his own. From 156/4 to 175/8 in the morning session - it was another classic collapse. Yet credit goes to Khary Pierre and Anderson Phillip, who stitched together a mini-fight, adding 47 gritty runs for the ninth wicket before Bumrah broke through in the Post-Lunch session. Even then, Phillip and Seales dragged the total to 248, showing there’s still fight left in that Caribbean spirit.
  • TEA is called on Day 3 with that wicket! India are tightening the screws, West Indies are still fighting for daylight! Another session, another step closer to domination for India. Four wickets fell across both Windies innings in this second session, and it’s fair to say, the visitors are hanging by a thread. Kuldeep Yadav spun magic yet again, wrapping up the first innings with his five-fer, while Siraj struck early after enforcing the follow-on. West Indies now trail by a daunting 235 runs, and though Campbell showed some grit, the rest, both Chanderpaul and Athanaze, looked uncertain against India’s relentless attack. A miracle, or maybe a mountain of patience, is what the Windies need to even dream of saving this Test.

Washington Sundar to Alick Athanaze, OUT! BOWLED'EM! Washington Sundar has bowled a dream delivery to dismiss Alick! He flights it up, full and on middle, drifts in a bit, but then turns away sharply. Alick Athanaze gets forward to defend but is not expecting that amount of spin, and gets squared up as he plays down the wrong line. The ball goes past the outside and crashes onto off and middle. This is every off-spinner's dream dismissal. Athanaze departs for 7 off 17, and West Indies are 35/2. THAT WILL ALSO BE TEA ON DAY 3!
